Eden’s Garden is the commission I completed recently. I don’t share all my commissions but this one was such a joy to create and my client and I were so pleased at how it turned out, I thought I would share it with you.

My commission process is simple. It starts with a brief conversation about what kind of artwork you want, in what theme etc. After we have sorted out the size, figures and themes I draft up a few ideas in the form of digital collages which I then send to the client to discuss. After discussing what we like and don’t like, we work together to choose the most thrilling composition which I then create the final artwork from, using graphite, spray paint and wax pencil on paper (in this case).

I fell in love with this drawing as I was making it. My client wanted Eve in the garden of Eden but I thought she would be lonely so I brought in Lilith to keep her company;) I decided to include Lilith and Eve in a sensual display of youth, eroticism and femininity. The flower of Life unites the figures through the snaking  pythons, one of which (on Eve’s shoulder) is an albino.

Close up of Eve. My client didn’t want the ladies to look identical so I thought it fitting to give Lilith (the Femme Fatale) darker hair and the innocent Eve, blond hair. Slightly stereotypical, I know, but I was playing on the traditional signs of a Femme Fatale vs an innocent, virginal being. What my client did specify, and these are in his words not mine (look away all you gentle souls) “Eve must have a hairy c*** or I’m not interested”

I had no problem with that. So with these things in mind I created Eden’s Garden and my client is thrilled with it so so am I. Hope you like it!

Jessica Ballantyne’s Painting a Day for 30 Days- Day #23, Seeding

Seeding

Daily Painting challenge number 23. This painting is made up of a strange column-like structure made up of body parts; boobs, buttocks and hints of arms and wings (?). Could be. A very warm and vibrant piece with lots of lime green and yellow. It reminds me of the moment right before an insect takes off. Except for the buttocks being firmly rooted in their place 😉 Here is “Seeding”, I named it thus because of the seed of life geometric symbol at the top as well as it reminding me of a seed pod about to burst and dispurse it’s seeds everywhere 🙂

daily painting 21, painting a day, jessica ballantyne, jessica ballantyne's painting a day, Flower bloomed, female sexuality, female growth, female innocence, ideology of sexual innocence, erotic, breasts, painting, inktense pencil, surreal body, hibiscus flower, flower inbetween legs, flower of life, seed of life, many breasted, big ass, buttocks, fairy wings
