A Painting a Day for 30 Days – Day #5

Hearing the Light

Getting really addicted to the surreal figures in my Painting a Day challenge. I am enjoying the small scale of these works! This painting for the day is based on a sketch I did whilst on holiday in Cape Town. I made a final drawing (see below) which was then sold and based the daily painting on the final drawing. I decided to use warmer colours to lighten the mood and tone (the previous two paintings were a bit on the dark side). All of these paintings are based on emotional and psychological states as well as an awareness of the body. However one can read all kinds of things into them, if you care to share your interpretation or reading in the comments, please do! I always love to hear about them:)
